Nicholas Himoky, Double-Lidded Teapot
maybe it’s a natural inclination
but i feel like sometimes people have a habit
of romanticizing the image of someone in their mind.
you tell yourself “oh my goodness they look like…”
or try to quantify through comparison what makes them worthwhile.
and maybe it’s something that stems from a fascination with
moving pictures, and beautiful faces that adorn magazines
but i think we owe it to ourselves to experience people and things
without a context. otherwise you impose a frame
around your perception of a person
and if you find your frame doesn’t suit them,
you may blame them for the fault.
